Being a Home Sponsor family is a ministry in itself. The Cadre Academy staff prays and considers each family and student individually to place students with the right sponsor families. Our prayer is to see you and your student become wonderful companions; able to talk, laugh, cry, and pray together. Many times you, as the sponsor family, will be the biggest support for your student since their parents may be miles away.
Staying in constant and open communication will greatly decrease the potential for negative interaction between you and your student(s). During the first week of the program be sure to sit down with your student and discuss these two pages of rules. It is a good start to a great relationship. If you ever have concerns about their living habits and/ or cleanliness please feel free to communicate to them what they can do to make your home more comfortable. If the situation does not change, you may contact Ms. B at 501.733.2561.
We realize each family will be different and may handle situations differently, but the following is a list of guidelines that we ask every student to abide by in order to maintain the most comfortable environment for both parties.
General Guidelines
1. Always remember that you should act as a guest in their home no matter how close you become.
2. Try, to the best of your ability, to observe the family’s household rules by sitting down and having a meeting with them within the first week of the program.
3. Demonstrate the Golden Rule: Matt. 7:12.
4. Get up in the morning quietly and come home at night quietly.

6. If you are the last one to bed, make sure all lights are out, everything is turned off, and the doors are all locked.
7. Volunteer for household activities and chores with a servant attitude.

Handling the Weather
Occasionally, we may encounter some bad weather such as ice and snow. Your student should call their team leader.
